The basics of investing and some other interesting reads

Here are some of the things I’ve been reading lately, mostly from blogs I’ve read and respected for a long time.

  • The investing basics that underpin success – Monevator
  • The Swiss Franc & the dangers of following strategies with even a small chance of “blowing up” – Expecting Value
  • Remove the Emotion from Your Investing – Under The Money Tree
  • BP and Shell investors demand answers on climate risk – City Wire
  • A dislike of doing nothing can work against investors – The Value Perspective
  • QE, negative yields and the potential knock-on effects for quality dividend paying shares – Jonathan Davis
  • [VIDEO] How to Find Value in the UK Stock Market – Morningstar

Author: John Kingham

I cover both the theory and practice of investing in high-quality UK dividend stocks for long-term income and growth.

  1. I am value investor from India. We mostly get to read about US market and US investors in all the books and also on Net. I am curious to know about value investing and successful value investors in Europe. I would be even curious to know about the successful private investors in Europe. Some time back I read “Free Capital”…the book about private investors in UK…and loved it. Pretty inspiring. The book by Anthony Bolton was also very good.
I suggest if you could then publish such stories of successful private investors in Europe. It will be good value add.
